Mosaic Damacus Butt plate.

Hi Guy's,
At the last Blade show I purchased some "scrap" mosaic damacus to fun around with.
After grinding and polishing I Re blued at 650 degrees.
This is the end result of one of one piece.

Hi William,
Most Butt plates I braze a long nut to the hidden side and then screw it to the tang. That is the Most secure way to do it. This one I had to do it differently to make the pattern line up easier.
The stag is first pined to the tang with a 1/8" pin. The butt plate has 2 wood screws brazed to it. When assembling and the handle is full of glue I just pushed the plate and screws into the epoxie.
 
That is about as slick as they come David. I guess I need to be on the look for some scrap mosaic.

That is too cool! Great knife and the bluing really worked well.
 
I know this thread is about the buttplate but I just want to comment on that blade. The profile, grind, and distal taper are just fantastic. Will make for one hell of a cutter. Awesome work
