Hello again guys.

Here is a wood for the fireplace in the shed of a respected African tribal chief. Fortunately there are still some crazy white people ready to replace a bottle of firewater for unnecessary piece of wood. :D

And here is what the ebony looks like, when you put on the front side a piece of steel.

If you want a larger image, you can click on the photo.

Blade – hand forged mosaic Damascus steel laminated to 1.2210 /Silver steel/ for a cutting edge. Zone hardened. 61-60 HRC after tempering.
Guard - Damascus steel.
Handle - Bicolor ebony tree.
The sheath is made from 3, 3.5 mm. thick caw leather.

The price is 450 $ including shipping.

The knife goes to the first "I'll take it."

Thanks’ for watching.

And here a few words about the way I work.

First, almost never check the hardness of the blades made of me. Make samples only when buy new steel. I work with digital high precision oven and as adhere the requirements of hardening and tempering, so the results are according to the manufacturer's specifications. This is one of reasons to prefer laminates.

Second. I do not like too high hardness. For example, Silver steel can be left to 63 HRC, but I prefer to be no more 61.

Third - all my blades are zone hardened. Use a special recipe for the clay. Coat thick the back of the blades. I do not like broken blades. No matter who’s the fault is. When I last tried a monolit knife of Silver steel the result was 61-62 cutting edge and 37-38 HRC - back side. For me it is satisfactory. For the same reason, when I forge laminates, damascus is of not hardenable steels.

If written above suits you;… Welcome all you buyers. :)
