Hi everyone,
I wanted to share a recent fixed blade we finished at Noblie Custom Knives.
This one is built around a mosaic Damascus blade, and what I like most about it is how the pattern stays detailed without overpowering the whole knife. Depending on the light, it reads differently from one section of the blade to another, so it has a lot of visual movement without looking busy.
We kept the rest of the build fairly restrained on purpose. The handle has a warm, natural look, the spacer stack adds just enough contrast, and the titanium guard gives the knife a clean transition from handle to blade. I thought that combination worked better here than going with heavier or more decorative fittings.
Specs on this one are 288 mm overall, 146 mm blade length, 4 mm stock, 30 mm blade width, and 60 HRC. It also has a leather sheath, which felt like the right match for the knife rather than something more elaborate.
To me, this is the kind of piece that sits somewhere between a practical field knife and a collector’s knife. The profile is usable and straightforward, but the mosaic Damascus gives it enough character that it doesn’t feel like just another working fixed blade.
I’d be interested to hear what you think about the balance here between the blade pattern and the simpler handle treatment. Would you have gone in the same direction, or would you have pushed the fittings a little further?
Thanks for looking.
