I am looking for a tutorial about installing mosaic pins in a full-tang handle. I will probably buy some pin material and give it a try, but have a few questions. Is the mosaic tube as strong as a pin? Can you grind down the excess without messing up the design? Any other suggestions appreciated.

Pin as any other. Yes, you can grind and buff as normal. Just make sure when you epoxy (I suggest 15 min or longer) to align them properly. Nothing worse than getting them in and set then figuring out that they are misaligned to each either or to the knife geometry. Good luck!!!

You can grind and buff as normal but be careful about getting them too hot. The epoxy and soften and let the inner parts slide out. Ask me how I know:grumpy:

ditto abought getting them misaligned or too hot i have done both also helpfill is to put them on a steel plate and roll them with a file while pressing down hard to give the epoxy something more to grip on.then prep with accatone and try not to touch them as you hammer them home. hemostats work well for me
