What knife looks the most dangerous in a combat situation and would most likely cause your attacker to cower in fear?

My vote goes to the Spyderco Civilian.

My vote goes for the one of a kind Magnum Argonne Assault from Busse. Wish it was mine.

I'd have to go with the Mick Strider 10" Valkyrie!

I think the one alphamaniv posted is pretty intimidating. And any Kurkri is kinda scary compared to my SOG SEAL 2000.

Cower with fear is pretty strong, but in terms of intimidating at least, Busse and Strider are the ones which spring to mind.

I think I'd pay particular attention to toothed's SAK though. Especially if the corkscrew was up.

I'd run like hell if anyone was coming after me with one of these.

This topic has come up...I'll cast my usual vote for anything by Steve Ryan :) (honorable mention goes to Laci Szabo and Ferret)

Toronto?? You're like a brother to me now! I'm from Richmond Hill :D

Nice knives, keep them coming. I'm cowering in fear just looking at them ;)

I agree, but it's also the one must likely to send you to jail if you ever use it in a self defense situation. I can hear from here the Prosecutor describing that "gut ripping, hook shaped, serrated instrument of torture", etc.... Try explain to the jury that this is nothing more than a utility knife...

I think an 18 year old 'kid' walking around with a meager student budget would stick out a bit. All in due time. How often are these shows and/or luncheons held?

I'm actualy quite new to the whole world of knives and so far I only know a bit about production knives and nothing about customs other than Darrel Ralph Venturis, expecially don't know anything about Canadian knife makers.

V10011011,

Don't worry about your age...knifemaker Eric Elson was the youngest knifemaker to become a full fledged CKG member at around 18-19 years of age...also, note in my pics that Darren Chard's 12 year old son has already made his first knife!

If you don't know about customs, these events/shows are the best place to learn! I have learned A LOT from my fellow knife knuts :) Besides, the best part about collecting customs is meeting the makers (and developing friendships).

In answer to your question, the CKG shows take place in October and April...our knife knut events take place about every 3-4 months.

The Venturi is cool...I was so sad that I missed it at the NY custom knife show (got to Darrel's table too late).

I dunno...My Cold Steel Vaquero Grande doesn't look too friendly, with its' 6 inch-long, wavy, fully-serrated blade.

I'll second the Cold Steel Vaquero Grande. I bought one this year and have managed to cut myself more times by accident than with any other knife I've owned. I hate to think what could be done with this knife if you were meaning to cut someone. Regarding the threatening looks of some of these knives what are supposed to defend ourselves with, a SAK champ?

I thought we were talking standard production stuff, you buys are pulling out the crazy customs on me :)

that I think would get somebody to stand up straight and take notice. At 3/8" thick at the bolster they're not lightning quick but their chopping power is horrifying. I don't think an arm or a neck would even slow 'em down.
