Just like the title says, what is the knife (or knives) you guys are looking forward to this year? Can either be production knives coming out or a custom you've been waiting on due this year. I know not all of the manufacturers have released their full lists yet but so far for me, my most anticipated is the Brous Blades/Willumsen "The Reloader". Absolutely LOVE the design and its the ideal blade size for me right at 3.5". Most of Mikkel's customs are massive which is part of the main reason I have yet to buy one (the cost is another issue as they're quite pricey on the secondary). For those who haven't seen it yet, here's a link to Jason's website: http://www.brousblades.com/?wpsc-product=2-limited-edition-blackout-silent-soldier-flipper
I'm sure there will be a couple Kershaw/ZTs I'll want as there have been in the past but I'll have to wait to see their US made offerings. So guys, what are you itching to get?

that reloader is wicked (and priced fair too).

i'm liking the looks of the upcoming spyderco friction folder.

Can I say ZT 0777 without the whole thread being derailed by the usual suspects?

I guess we'll see. :p

You beat me to it! Most anticipated knife of 2011, 2012, and now 2013! I am eager to see if there's any new regular production ZT goodness this year.

The Spydie friction folder looks very nice as well. Not sure how I feel about the mosaic pins in the handle but I'll probably pick one up for city carry anyway. Solid, the 777 will be an incredible knife. I'm bummed I didn't put in a pre-order. I thought it'd be released sooner and couldn't have afford a Tilt AND that at the time. Hopefully someone doesn't like theirs (for whatever reason) and I can grab one.

my feelings exactly. mosaic pins = not necessary...

otherwise it looks bad A.

I'm thinking it'll be part of their "ethnic" series or something. At least its no super overdone IMO. I'm wondering if it will be on both sides of the handle.

Some Kershaw 2013 models pictures
I thought about closing it as soon as I saw it... but figured the info and pictures are already out there. Might as well leave it up for people to drool over. We'll have more info on each of these available after SHOT.

Regardless, I'm happy to see hype forming already about several of these. And there's still some cool ZT stuff headed your way that nobody knows about yet.
:D

I am in the same boat. I can't believe I am looking forward to getting price gauged by the people who pre-ordered just to resell, but I am. Also anxiously awaiting the 0560CBCF.

the friction folder is a part of the ethnic series (according to the 2013 catalog).

i'm neutral about the pins. they are fairly subtle but i'm not sure if they're featured on both sides.

none of that will be a game changer for me.

that knife looks like a great city carry (as you mentioned) or light duty edc.

I actually have to echo your choice. I am absolutely in no position to be buying another knife right now but I preordered the second I saw it. I almost popped on a silent soldier flipper awhile ago being a bearing flipper fanatic I am. But I had a feeling he would make something more my style. The reloader is the knife ive been waiting for someone to make. And with only 500 pieces being made Ill figure out how im gonna pay for it in a couple months after he is finished with them.

Solidorange, thanks for the link. I saw that thread but I missed Lynda's promise of secret-squirrel ZT goodies. Hopefully it's a new model not just new versions of existing models..... unless it's a "budget" (like $200-$250) version of the 0777, that I could handle! None of the new Kershaws are really doing it for me. I've found that even if I buy them I never carry their Chinese knives, so I'm planning to just avoid buying them in the future.

Yup. I'm not going to buy one if the price is astronomical (and they probably will be) but if I can find a semi-reasonable price on one, you better believe I'm gonna jump all over it. :D The CBCF is sweet too. I've been holding off on an 0560 for that version.

None of it will be a deal breaker for me either- still going to be a nice knife. I like that we will be getting the option of clip or sheath carry right out of the box.

1. Benchmade VOLLI
2. Esee 4 stainless
3. Spydie Friction folder
I might pick up a Des Horn folder. Thats all I can think of right now

I bought a new compound bow recently so I too was in no position for a new knife but I felt EXACTLY the same as you. Needed to have it as soon as I saw it. The one thing I wish it had was a more corrosion resistant steel but other than that, I love it.

The Brous/Willumsen Reloader looked to me like a Dwayne Carrillo's long lost twin without makeups and bling-blings.

That Carillo does look similar but I wouldn't say 'twins'. The blades are very different shapes. I hate that short, deep recurve on the Carillo- looks like a massive serration.

Looks like a twin to me. He has been known to "borrow" designs before.

I hate to say this but a certain knife company is making some very cool and very cold hard steel.
What I'm trying to say is the new code 4 series is looking good
I'd talk about the new spyderco catalog but that's a hole new thread...........

I don't think it was meant to look like that specific Carillo. I can see the similarities in the handle angle in relationship to the blade but I don't believe its a Microtech Matrix type of situation going on here. I would say the handle is more similar than the blade. The blades are totally different styles both in shape and grinds.
