Most Anticipated Knife of 2013

I watched the video on the Reloader-
Just curious that the pocket clip is placed close to the pommel with tip up carry and flipper on outer side. Is it meant to be waved in a way for a reverse grip?
Just try to get the sleepy brain on a threadmill..

You can't really "wave" a flipper. To get a flipper to open, force is applied away from the pivot rather than towards it on a waved knife. It looks like the clip is going to fit into a slot between the G10 scale and the liner but I could be wrong. The clip will be reversible and I think it just happens to be on the left side in the video. No particular reason for it.

You know someone's going to slice their finger to the bone on that "choil".

The Brous/Willumsen Reloader looked to me like a Dwayne Carrillo's long lost twin without makeups and bling-blings.

The Spydie friction folder looks very nice as well. Not sure how I feel about the mosaic pins in the handle but I'll probably pick one up for city carry anyway. Solid, the 777 will be an incredible knife. I'm bummed I didn't put in a pre-order. I thought it'd be released sooner and couldn't have afford a Tilt AND that at the time. Hopefully someone doesn't like theirs (for whatever reason) and I can grab one.

From what i read the mosaic pin is probably being forfeited.

I don't think it was meant to look like that specific Carillo. I can see the similarities in the handle angle in relationship to the blade but I don't believe its a Microtech Matrix type of situation going on here. I would say the handle is more similar than the blade. The blades are totally different styles both in shape and grinds.

agreed. And its a colab with Mikkel so jason isnt the only person behind this design (and therefore not solely to blame if any similarities exist with other knives) . These days its damn near impossible to make something that is COMPLETELY original without being ugly as sin.

+1:thumbup: I actually think the design looks like something Mikkel would design all the way through. Has a cleaner look though than most of his stuff which is where I think Jason's influence came into play. I like how they opted for symmetrical grinds on both sides of the blade. A lot of Mikkel's customs have asymmetrical swedges or grinds which I'm not a huge fan of.

Totally agree. Mikkel is a bittersweet maker for me. Almost every single knife he has ever made I like 50% and hate 50%. Having his ideas mixed with jasons ability to tame insanity equals 100% win.

Yup. Exactly my feelings. For me, the sheer size of his knives are the biggest issue. A lot of them have more than 4" blades. I like to carry my knives and I couldn't justify dropping that kind of coin on a knife to just sit there. I would love to get my hands on one of his Mr. Mug folder though.

David Mosier XL Creep..linerlock, zirconium bolsters and smooth cf. orange peeled, dark bronzed liners. Hand rubbed cpm154 steel

Sean Kendrick Fire Spitter..Full Ti framelock, heavy orange peel texture, dark bronze, acid etch/tumbled cpm154 steel

Both due in April..oh and the zt777 to pay for one of'em and probably half of the other, if they release it in time. Not gonna hold my breath though, good thing funds are in line and ready

Cold Steel Warcraft Tanto. Not because I particularly like or want that specific knife, but it seems like it may be yet another step in the right direction for CS. I'd love to see them step up and try to compete a little more with the big three and introducing PM steels to their lineup seems like a sign they might do that.

Agreed. The funny thing is that the big three don't seem to want to compete with coldsteel in the XL folder market. Also I don't want to hear anybody say that there isn't a market for that Niche because it's obvious that there is a huge one. Just type coldsteel spartan or espada into youtube.
