I decided to do some tinkering to my Native. I have a cheap Harbor Freight
4"x36" belt sander. 220 Grit for everything I did. Once I get my 1"x30" back, my old one broke and hasn't been in stock forever, I'll go over the places I ground, with a 320 grit belt and make the edge hair whittling sharp. Anyway- Double edged it-ground the back so it's rounded-and reground the edge.

It ain't perfect, but once I hit it with the 320 grit 1"x30" it should look dam near like a professional did it.

But considering this is my pajama knife, I think it'll do for now.;)

Whatcha think?

Very nice, Nate:thumbup:

I love my sharpmaker, but my 1x30 belt sander is just awesome for putting an edge on things. That looks really good.

thanks man- this didn't come out all the pretty, but I id convew my buddy's BM Pika II and it looked dam professional-it was a work of art-lol

yeah, those cheap 1"x30" sander sure can do a lot-straight up and down-convexing-lay it on its back-flat grinding

Did my double edge 630 inspire you? You need to drop the spine below the handle (when closed) and then double edge it. Might as well wave that hole while you're at it.

What if you fall asleep with it in your pocket and you lay on it?

Then he might wake up to find that he is now Jewish if you get what I'm saying

Doesn't look like he took Chris Reeve's "Think Twice Cut Once" motto to heart. Definite Darwin Award potential there.

Just a word of advice - I don't think you're supposed to link to anything posted "there".

It's not too hard to "fix" the carry of the exposed edge. Just make a kydex sheath for it.

Other than the obvious carry concerns, pretty cool. I could definitely be mistaken, but there might be some knife laws about double edged blades to consider too.

no, you're right- double edged is illegal here in CA, but it's an "at home" knife-even if i did carry i probably wouldnt be too worried either-thanks for the kydex info-i just kinda dulled the other side

I might as well post a shot of my double edge conversion. I apologize in advance for posting a BM.

And this has been an EDC for a couple years. When I was arrested in 06, they threw it with my property... opened/closed it, not a second glance. When I got out, they handed it back. That wasn't the first or the last time that a cop has scrutinized it, but it was always returned.

Going off topic but what were you arrested for?
