depends who I am around, when hanging out with the old men , the most common is a classic slip joint, with high odds of being a stockman by case or schrade. out and about, I see a lot of kershaw leeks, but the one knife that I see most often (that I can remember) is a gerber paraframe, that might be because I can tell what it is easily
When I was a kid there weren't many choices, the Buck 110 & Schrade Uncle Henry folders were on 9 out of ten belts. Many also had a small Buck, Schrade or Swiss Army Knife in their pocket.
With so many knife companies and the thousands and thousands of models available today, I highly doubt any one knife will ever stand out or have the reputation of the Buck 110 or Schrade had back in the day. (BTW, they still make them and they are still great knives!)
