most knife for the money you carry

I love my Military's. Have three of them and two of them are carried daily. One satin bladed left hand model. And right hand either an all black model, or my old first release 93 model, which is my "beater" knife.

IMHO, millies are probably the best all around knife design I own.

out of curiosity in your experience, how is the lock on the military? ive kinda built this subconcious rule 'never trust a liner lock' but i like the knife a lot

To reply to the question posed to cbxer55 about the Military (or for that matter, all Spyderco's) liner-lock. No worries. Pretty freakin solid though probably not in the super-lock category like the Cold Steel Tri-ad or other such locks. More than enough for me and I haven't handled a bad one yet (out of about 10 Millies that have passed through my hands). Never spine-whacked one nor see the point of it.

If you don't have a Military, there are occasionally passarounds or the like to test it out, or you could just buy one - but it is a rather large folding knife despite its lightweight, ergonomic nature. Also, the blade-to-handle ratio is not great if that is a prime factor in your criteria for folding knives.

Spydercos specifically:
~$100: plain Military's, PM2's, Gayle Bradley. The Sage and Chapparal series are great buys too for smaller-sized knives though the higher-end ones are quite out of what I consider a reasonable price-to-value range, that said, all of Spyderco's knives are generally worth the money, just maybe not as much functionally. Diminishing returns and all that depending on your requirements.
~$75: ZDP189/FRN Stretch.
~$50: Endura, Delica, Salt, Rescue series and smaller knives like the Cricket, Manbug, Jester, Dragonfly, etc.

My Endura 4 for sure with my Swiss Army Tinker in second. I carry both everyday. I am now swapping out my Delica for my Endura here and there but still favor the Endura.
