Most pocket friendly clip

My favorite pocket clip is on the S&W extreme Ops. I bought it about 10 years ago and it's been in my pocket every day since. I like the Vantage Pro pretty well. My old Delica had a nice clip on it also.

Well, Steelsnob said it first, but my favorite clip is my STR clip on my JDII. It is a lowrider clip, tight enough to be secure, loose enough for ease of use. It's made of satin finished titanium.... Check out STR in the makers forum, he can make clips for many different knives.

I usually deburr the inside of pocket clips and adjust the spring tension. Lighter knives are carry in my shirt (placket). Heavier knives are carried in my front right pocket or on a belt. All three of these positions requires a different spring tension and/or gap. Clips are adjusted off the knife with the base of the clip held in a vise.

Best pocket clip for retention and durability: Hinderer XM-18
Best pocket clip for being gentle to clothing: G&G Hawk spring clips with rollers -- zero wear on the pocket.

I was just about to ask if anybody puts spring clips on knives like I used to have on a couple of old cell phones, then saw your post. I see from their website that the Grip Clips are available for purchase separately. And WOW! they have some cool knife designs.

It seems like more manufacturers would offer that type clip, at least as an after-market option.

Love the clip on my MF0, low carry and not to hard on the pants.

Since I started this thread I wanted to provide an update. The culprit for my quickly worn jeans was my BM940. The combination of the chalky scales and a too-tight clip caused issues. I'm looking at how to smooth out the rough edges of the inside of the clip to start.

My typical ECD these days has been a Chris Reeve `Zaan which does not seem to cause damange. Just this week I also picked up an Spyderco Sage II. The combination of the smooth Ti scales and the wire clip look to be very pocket friendly.

SOG autoclip. You don't see many of these but it's a great EDC in BG-42 steel.

The little roller at the butt of the handle adjusts the tension on the clip, which is smooth as, well, plastic on the pocket. Keep it tight, then when you need it, flick the roller back with your thumb and draw the knife cleanly and smoothly out. I love it.

The STR low rider clips are awesome for ease of carry and easy on pockets!!!:D:thumbup:

The Buck Vantage clip has also impressed me...;)

For the record, I've taken several of my favorite jeans to the local cleaners/alterations shop and had my frayed pocket reenforced with stitching so they last longer. Costs just a few bucks when the pocket gets so frayed it's hard to clip the knife to it. MY shop does a great job too and it doesn't look "repaired" but rather, adds to the worn look.

"Wrangler Riggs" workwear has solved the issue for me....;)
