Most significant impacts in the knife industry in the last 10 years?

Quality China mfg making great knives at affordable pricing.

High quality European and Eastern European knives are now easy to get. Shiro before 2018(?) was seemingly impossible to get.

CNC Mac guys are alive and well due to the decreased cost to purchase the proper equipment (??) And therefore has opened up a new segment of knife purchasing of the hyper boutique MAC (Kody Eutsler, OZ, SPK, Craig Brown, HMC, Carver, Skiff, Prince...etc)

As others have said, the proliferation of Chinese knives is the biggest and most concerning development.

Negatives
1. China. I never thought I'd see the day when so many customers would sell out and vote with their dollar for slavery and totalitarianism over democracy and American craftsmanship.

Positives
1. Better heat treats from cumulative work done by Larrin and Nathan Carothers.
2. CNC advances allowing small makers to produce good blades and compete with the giants.
3. I feel like the entire knife game has been elevated by competition in a positive way. There's never been a better time to be a knife enthusiast. Tons of great makers putting out excellent knives.
