The Spyderco Tenacious... was my biggest positive suprise.
The fit and finish was absolutely on par with my expensive Golden produced models.
I am still not a believer in PRC produced products (flame me if you feel the need),regarding quality and bussiness and human ethics.
Any country that uses children, exploitation, slavery or so called "political prisoners" as a workforce should not be receiving any money from me.
I bought the Tenacious because Sal promised us (the customer) on the spyderco forum that this knife would be manufactured according to Western standards.
The biggest disppointment was a Boker Jim Wagner Reality Based Blade.
The knife that I was most impressed with was the Kershaw Starkey Ridge (large). It was one of the smoothest opening knives I had, had a beautiful sweep with nice belly to the blade, had a very good thumb purchase although it looked odd, and it was also the only knife I had ever lost. I wish I could find another. I have a small version but it is not the same.
Most surprising: Spyderco Poliwog. I usually do not like sub-3" blades, but the ergos on this one are amazing. Plus, it is viewed as non-threatening by NKP.
Most disappointing: Buck/Mayo 172 LE with CF scale. Way overpriced, poor finish, dull edge, very hard lock. Returned it the same day.
My Best Knives: Any of the Blind Horse Knife patch knife series; especially the Wharncliffe blades. Amazing knives for the money.
Worst: Benchmade 911. Big bucks and it arrives with all sorts of tool marks and a blade that makes a butter knife feel sharp! I keep it because I can't bring myself to unload it on someone.
