basically, i need some moral support from you guys, plus some war/victory stories.

i've bought custom knives as gifts, but never for myself - until now. i'm far from rich, and i've set a new record for myself with a brad duncan aftershock: $450.

i've been waiting for that creature to hit the mailbox, my fingers are crossed that it's as sexy as it looks in pictures & video.

okay, your turn..

I bought my R.W. Clark Pelamus totally blind. A pricey piece to be sure, but I wasn't disapointed!

I bought my first Sebenza without ever having handled one. Liked it so much I bought six more!

I bought a $1200.00 worth of custom knives and never seen them til 8-10 months later in person..

I bought a custom from a member here (Charles Gedraitis aka Striper) with only having seen pictures. Cost a lot but is well worth it.

I paid $310.00 for my first Sebbie without ever handling one and I was not dissapointed.

Extreme Ratio MPC $449.00-- it's on the way, haven't touched one

Randall Gilbreath $450.00--- Custom titanium folder with 154cm blade

Ed Fowler $1100.00-- Rattlesnake Bowie

Strider SnG $400.00

Soon to be delivered [2] Strider MARSOC'S serial numbered $550.00 per

Microtech LCC -- short money compared to the above

A few others but I can't remember without being in front of the safe.

Over the last year and a half I have bought about $5,000 worth of Busses, sight unseen, from various people on Bladeforums and Knifeforums. All have been promptly shipped and all were in as good or better condition than as advertised.

I'm forced to buy all my knives that way...:(

Most I spent is $300 (or a little more) on a Ray Rogers Rayzor

Of course, all the time. If I have purchased from the company in question before, I know what to expect. Customs can be a little more risky, but you can get a handle on that by what other buyers have said about a given maker's work.

I spent 300 some on a Korth balisong without having seen or handled one. Almost all my knife purchases are made solely based on pictures and reviews.

Only $100 on a SOG SEAL 2000....but it has been traded for a Surefire M2. That was worth it too :D

Mostly all of my knives are ordered from the maker. I don't see them at all until they arrive.

I currently have a couple on order that are coming at Christmas from 2 different makers. They are just under (or slightly over:D) $2000 each. I try to stay in the no more than $1500 to $2000 range.
