For me its the 943 .........it needs a steel upgrade (M-4 or M-390) even S90V
Very versatile blade IMHO ........not to small nor to big , handles any task Ive had with ease.
When you pull out a knife if its too big , people look at you funny ....LOL Like WOW ! you carry a weapon.
I find this to be one of the all time greats thats due for an upgrade.
Need I say more ?? Is BM listening ?

This is my first started thread on this Forum ........... yes , bored this morning .....LOL
I have all these Super steel knives , yet carry mostly a S30V 943 ...............Love the knife.

Nice start DJ, good to see you over here. That other Forum is boring I now understand.

My pick of this morning would be the 583-1 WARN as a very under-rated knife. You don't have a lot of talk about this one these days, but it's got to have one of the best American D2 tanto blades going, and all based on the Barrage A/O frame. Here 'tis.

...Joe

You may be right. It seems that the 940 get's a lot of attention, whereas the 943 isn't mentioned quite as much. If they would release a limited edition of the 943 in a high-end steel, I would absolutely purchase one.

Greta first thread post...and wow, what a beautiful silver 943! If they made a Blue-class 943 in titanium or in more handle colors, I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

I agree w/ jkarp on this one

The 88x series I always thought were highly underrated as well. I had a NIB KOTM, was really impressed w/ it. One of the smoothest knives I've had. Sorry to see it go, was hot for something else at the tiime.

for me the most under rated knife is the 527 mini presidio ultra. the 440c steel is done very well by benchmade and the hollow ground blade takes an amazing razor edge. I also find the handle much more comfortable then the griptilian as its a little longer

The Ares bladed Strykers don't get much attention. With all the talk about buyers wanting the Ares these days, I would think they would be more popular.

And Joe, that other forum is a lot more friendlier these days minus a couple of members.;) I don't think anyone has been banned since.

The 721 & 722 get my vote for most underrated Benchmade. G-10 handles, thin profile, AXIS lock, overall size was excellent for an EDC but it was build to handle much more heavy duty tasks.

I some ways the original 910 Stryker. Mid sized power house of a knife with what I thought an exceptional blade design.

I'd also say the HK Ascender. Great blade size, strong well made knife for the price. A real standout in it's class.

Stryker and HK Nitrous Blitz: great knives indeed! Like both: very light, good size, great materials, like blade shapes on both, very comfortable to carry. And were very well priced too, when they were available!

I've always thought the Bone Collectors have been underrated. Great ergonomics with a good blade steel, but you just do not really hear much about them. I have the mini and really like it.

I think the mini-Barrage is underrated. It is a great EDC knife and cuts through anything. Bring it on, Rockstead :)

I think for me the most underrated knife would be the HK 14205. It has got to be one of the smoothest Benchmades I have handled. Just a great knife that stayed under my radar for a long time.

If the 14205 had been a regular production Benchmade with a butterfly on the blade instead of the H&K I would have been all over it.

I'm with you Bob...even without the butterfly my 14205 and 14210 models are keepers. And agreed they've been underwhelming in popularity, but are great designs.

For me, the 913 is underrated. I bought a used one from a forum member and I immediately loved that knife. So much so that I carried it everyday from that moment for almost an entire year. I kick myself for not picking them up when they were on close out sale at many retailers. I did manage to work a trade for an all black plain edge 913. It's great IMO.

Oh good call on the nitrous strykers I picked up a mini stryker when I first joined the forums I just wish it was a plain edge instead of combo but cant complain since its the only one Ive seen up for sale since.

The only knife I ever sent to Benchmade that they couldn't fix, was a 670 with a faulty lock; when asked for another choice they offered and built me a plain edge satin 913D2 which remains one of my favorites. That was a good choice and more than a fair exchange!

I really like the 910 design and execution but I just couldn't warm up to the nitrous version (912/913).
