Most underrated production knife

Fixed Blades by Kabar. Also the latest Becker knife and tool series of outdoor knives. Truth be told Ontario makes some quite functional knives as well. All of these are basic carbon steel blades, that impress me with their value. Still bang for the buck is not everything and I usually select something more high end. I often wonder why though.

Misque, I think they should have just come out and said AUS8A, as it is every bit as good as 440c in my opinion. It's the misleading stuff that bothers me too. I still dont have a problem with any Beretta knife, as they have always performed well for me.

I have to admit that the Beretta fixed blade I have is PDG.
It is a 4" bladed upswept hunter with a green Micarta handle and a pouch type, basket weave stamped black leather sheath.
Cannot recall the name right now. Sorry.

Richard,
I'm not sure how they are tagging their knives nowadays. My favorite knife companies are coming out with so much new stuff I'm finding it difficult to keep up with all of the companies these days. Last time I remember looking at their stuff, they still had it tagged as 440c.:(

Misque, you have one of the Pro Guide series. These are some of the nicest factory fixed blades out there for the money. I have one of these Pro Guides with black micarta and a sheepsfoot blade and same basketweave sheath. I think it cost me $60 a few years ago.
