We've had threads on the most you've paid for a knife, or for a folder.

But how about the most you've paid for a working knife, an edc?

No art blades or safe queens; not knocking them, just trying to get a sense of what folks will pay for a working knife.

In my case, a small Sebenza with micarta inlays.

All my knives are working knives. 715, though the knife isn't done yet. Custom 4 inch bladed DDR Gunhammer in m390 with bead blasted titanium handles and stone washed blade. I would have gone stone washed on the handles as well, but with the 3d texturing on them, I think that would be hard. The blade is stone washed because a scratch will be hard to notice on it since it's already scratched to all hell. It's also bare ti that's blasted. No anodizing at all. Again...my thoughts were purely on a working piece.

$160, I got a LNIB para 2 in m390 for $160, but then got a trade for a BNIB zt 0560 which is now my edc. So basically I got a new zt 0560 for $160:thumbup:

500 is the most I have paid for an EDC knife that I am willing to use and it is a Strider SMF tanto, other than that I usually will pay around 200 for an Emerson.

About $350 I think for an SR1. $200 for most others, mainly Sprint and LE Spyderco and Benchmade knives.

$500 for a slipjoint and $800 for a fixed blade, both customs from the same maker. Both of them get a ton of use.

Here's an old picture of the folder.

$414.95 + Tax.

Is that 6.5% tax or 7% tax. Some of us try to be a bit more meticulous in our posts, ya know.

BTW, my problem is CRK. I usually don't buy new, but I have a passion for those darned things. And even the used ones aren't cheap.

$675 for a Hinderer XM18 3.5 gen 4. My favorite knife along with my Les George VECP.

My three most expensive folders are my regular EDC's, $600 range. I think for most people the more expensive the knife the less inclined they are to carry it. For me it's the opposite, the more expensive the more I want to get every penny's worth!

As a newbie on this forum (first post) , I do not wish to come across as the pretentious type, but enjoy this topic more than just about any, and thus it has sparked my input. My current EDC is a "Super 6" CQC6 custom, w/ Emerson's typical titanium bolsters, "wave-feature" and Micarta scales. I also typically have fixed-blade semi-EDC knives as well, but none that really compare to the "6". I take pride in making some enthusiasts cry, because of using it, and getting the typical cosmetic wear on the bolsters from carry.
