Mothra has Landed

Actually they are better smashed up and mixed with lime or mango and used as a topping on snow cones. Just saying.

I have seen a few giant moths down south. Not to many around here. They are beautiful to see.
 
We had a couple just like the pic on our porch last night, when I came back to take a pic they had flown off. They were easily hand sized.
 
That little bugger looked big, but then you used the TGLB for comparison and its HUGE!! :eek: Beautiful moth, awesome pictures, thanks for sharing it with us! That is definitely a cool bug.
 
I caught a moth at work once that was flopping all over the ground. I thought it was a wounded pigeon. The body of it was big as my fist and the wingspan was 10" across. I think it was too big to take flight. I put it in a 5 gallon bucket and released it outside.
 
That's beautiful! I've never seen a moth like that before. I've held a bright green one a little smaller than my palm, though. The kids thought I was crazy.
