when looking at motors for a grinder how important is the service factor and what number should a guy look for?

The service factor is the percent of over load you can safely push the motor to for a limited time. most heavy duty motors have a service factor of 1.15 - 1.20 so that gives you %15-%20 over loading. I am not sure if you have to have it as all my motors have a service factor but it a good indication of a good heavy duty motor.
