Ok still stuck on the motor thing. I have been reading some old threads and I am more confused. Uncle Sam was kind enough to give me some of my cash back that I let him hold this year. So how about this motor. The speed control is attached so that would help me. I am a little concerned with only 1hp my current is 1 1/2. I have to have 110v. Reversible would be great also. Any suggestions. I know Robs would be a good fit but I have trouble spending the $$

1 hp is no good for the KMG. I had a 1.5 which worked good but next one will be a 2hp.

Yep same with me my current is a 1-1/2 HP but gonna upgrade to 2Hp when it goes.

I would say that 1 hp would work, you will just not be able to lean in really hard profiling. I used a 110v 1hp for a couple of years when I first got my KMG.

Not much info on the enclosure of the speed controller. A lot of money to spend on a motor and controller that you might burn out. Not to mention you'll probably want the controller mounted elsewhere.

You can spend a fair bit less money on a tefc motor and put step pulleys on it.

Not sure Keith even read the page...

i just saw that it was TEFC and was 1 hp, which is alright for grinders i think.
