I did a canister weld of motorcycle chain...L6...and 1084 powder on the billet. The resulting blade is 11" long and 3/8" thick at the spine....edge is razor sharp with a Bagwell-like sharpened clip. The handle is 5.5" long (I believe) and the guard and buttcap are NS...however...this particular NS I had looks more like brass. The buttcap is pinned in place and underneath the handle has been weighted internally for good balance.

The handle is Bocote wood and has been sealed and waxed.

The knife is hard to photo....the billet did not give me a super high contrast so I opted to etch deep and give it a Bagwell style buffing. The blade literally looks like a chrome coated python

The steel between the "eyes" from the motorcyle chain has a Wootz look to it and there are visible L6 streaks all over.

I will equip this one with either a leather or IWB kydex sheath...buyer preference.

Somebody has to say it....woooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh

That is one HELL of a knife. If you're not careful I'm going to put it in my car when you're not looking ;).

Wowza! That is COOL! I normally don't like bowies but I could make an exception for this one.

Received the knife today and it's as good looking as the pictures. Greg was excellent in responding to my quirks and particular demands; that's what makes it a CUSTOM knife! He kept me up to date through out the process - demonstrating outstanding customer service.

I have three of Greg's knives that he's made through the last few years and can honestly say that his craftsmanship and attention to details have definiely improved. A lot of guys can make a good cutting knife, but for better or worse, these two criteria make a big difference in the market place.

Greg's experiment into cutting competitions must be having a positive effect on his take on handle shape. The balance and feel of this knife is far more lively than anything this large should have! The blade is almost too pretty to scratch up with use, but then again, I'm a knife user and not a knife collector - despite how many I have.

Great job Greg! I'm saving my pennies for the next one.
