If you are going to be doing any longer distance free way riding, you need to make sure that what ever bike you choose will handle extended touring at 80mph. that means you need to have an engine that will handle that speed at lower rpm. it will save you tons of vibration and make for a much more comfortable ride. I have a KLX650c. a dirt bike that is street legal. it is great around town. really fun, but when you go on extended rides at freeway speeds, it really needs a 6th gear. not to mention a more comfortable seat. single's tend to be much more vibration prone at freeway speeds. I have ridden harley's honda's (both cruisers and bullet bikes, and 6 cylinder valkrie 1600's). Just do your research and ask around before you choose.
