Very cool! I've not taken the time to go after any bear, but I might get a tag next year here in Colorado. I need to look and see if the season overlaps elk/deer at all. What state are you in, if you don't mind my asking?

If you get a chance it is well worth it. I got him in Eastern Oregon.

That's a Big caliber.
I'm not much of a hunter, but growing up, my father was a fan of Ruger #1's, and his .375H&H and his 45-70 were the Biggest kickers. Especially when loaded Hot.
Many a black & blue shoulder.

With technique and practice it ain't bad. Also, being dressed for the cold didn't hurt.
