I got the chance to take some pics tonight, hope you like em.

This is my old school rendition of flint and steel. I forged the shape of the striker from an old carbon fiile and found the rock to get my spark on. I think its green jasper, but I do know that its harder than the english flint I have. The bag is a deer sack and holds my kit perfectly. Knife is a vintage Case stockman with my first hand made sheath. Later down the line of images is my koster bushcraft and my really old chopper.

thats one helluva chopper ya got there.

nice pics man thanks for sharing, i like the look of that sheath you made.

cheers

I like the looks of this traditional kit but I'd swap out the 550 cord for your pouch for rawhide lacing. It will make it look even more traditional. Nice looking Case and homemade striker!

Thanks for the comments.

the pouch originally came with rawhide lacing and some bead-work, but it was just to short to hang around my neck, so I opted for the paracord.

As far as the chopper, im not quite sure what to do with it. Its good tool steel from around the 1940's and I don't know if I want to make a hatchet out of it or leave it be. Its a monster 9+ incher and out chops and out weighs my fiskers.

is it realy a deer's sack, thats funny.

I'd leave the chopper alone, be unique, who else walks around with a big cleaver. You need to make a sweet sheath for it.

That is one sweet set-up! I like every piece of gear including your chopper! Nice to see a little different set up. Very cool!

NICE kit. And great pics too!

those big heavy cleavers outchop any ax or chopper. The power is incredible when you start swinging it. I took one and made a mini chopper with it:
