I have been studying the knives used in the old west (non bowies) and this is the result. Large skinner and small utility knife. These are great for hunting, camping and show. The handle of the large knife is exposed so you can reach and pull out, a leather tong is attached to the smaller knife so it is secure in the sheath but can be accessed easily.

The full sheath is very comfortable to carry and wraps around hip. The back is a single piece folded over with a hand stitched molded front. The foldover back allows sheath to move comfortable with you when walking. The leather sheath has a natural neatsfoot oil treatment. Sheath is 9 1/2" x 6 3/4".

Both blades are flat ground from 5/32" O1 tool steel. Large knife blade 6 1/4" blade, 10 3/4" Overall about 1 1/2" at widest point
Small knife 3" blade, 7 1/4 overall.

Both about 59 - 60rc
Handles Figured Walnut Burl
Brass Pins

Price $165.00 plus $10.00 shipping to USA, other countries to pay actual shipping.

someone please buy this, otherwise i'm going to, and then I will be eating ramen noodles with grass clippings for the rest of the month......

Hey!

I bought months ago the first "Mountain man" set Patrick did...

Great stuff...
I got 1095 blades and they wear today a nice patina.
Both knives endured my usage pretty well!

I got looks and kind words anywhere I go with that set...

I'm glad you change the ergo on the patch knife handle, Patrick, I did it myself...

The sheath itself is really good looking, though not as practical...
Too many chances to cut it re-sheathing a knife or the other...
Mountain men didn't bother with that. Problem is I encounter wild game (and leather) less often than they did!
I just built tougher sheaths for field use.
Original sheath is great for storage/display!

My two cents, buy with confidence!

Manu the frog.
