Mountain Mandu

Went out to the wood pile today with the Mountain Mandu to fill up some boxes of kindling. It processes wood really well with the full flat top and you can use the whole edge to work with as well.
After the kindling I chopped up two average sized branches and it flew through them, next was about a 4" or 5" limb. It went through it as good as my old CGFBM or better, it bites real deep.
This blade is awesome and is going to make a nice companion on hikes.

Is the handle sized similarly to the Ratmandu?
I hope the handle is slightly longer though.
With that width and the tall bevel, this should be the best wood chipper in the Rat group.
Man i'd take a 18"!

Can you compare the handle to any other big choppers?

Can you choke down on the handle for a "little something extra" on each swing?

Nice job showing off the unique plunge line and saber grind in your pics by the way =MAX=.

Ill get more pics up today with other blade handle pics for comparison.
yes you can get back a little more on the handle but im pretty sure its an RMD handle but ill take pics next to one to compare for you guys.
In no way did it feel like it was going to fly out of my hand when chopping, this thing loves to swing and chop. I am used to a choil so I had to be constantly thinking cause I almost got cut a few times. The built in choil is more like a down step but it works awesome for choking up. Again it bites so deep on hits its awesome but it didn't get stuck, must be due to the geometry. I was using nuclear tough oak.
You have to get one of these blades, I have not used my NMFSH since it arrived
Thank you Jerry and crew for making this design a reality

This thing is cool! Always wanted a battle mistress or similar busse, but can't afford those. So this must be alot more affordable.Where you get these was it a ganzaa offering or?

Knob creek. Youbmaybbe able to find one on the other site. Hopefully, this will be a standard offering from the swamp.

Here are some comparison shots of the MMD vs RMD handles. After looking at both models the handles are completely different. The MMD handle is much larger and even more awesome than the already awesome RMD handle.
You can choke up good or hold back on it for more power if you want, there is good room for hand placement all around. Lets just say these handles fit this BEAST of a blade perfectly. Again these MMD's are incredible
I Hope these pics help with any questions you might have.
Cheers!

Great pics, thanks.

Years ago, in these forums, someone posted a great trick for improving grip when you want to choke back on a handle for more chopping power. Put something like a rubber stopper on a short lanyard. Then you have two or three fingers on the scales, and the pinky is up against the stopper for safety.
