Mountain Men on History channel

Well I was able to DVR it yesterday and I have to say I really like it. For me I'd rather watch things like this, Alone in the Wilderness, or Alaska:the Last Frontier than the survival shows we currently have, and certainly more than doomsday preppers. These are the people who are truly prepared with the SKILLS to survive and carry on if there was no more grid, government or grocery stores. I especially like Eustace and the way he invites people to live there and learn from him in exchange for some chores and stuff. Though personally I'd much rather be in Montana or Alaska where the other two guys live. I hope this show stays on for a couple seasons at least, even if they find different people to film after a while. It would be nice if as many try to live more self reliant after seeing this, as they did try to learn survival after Survivorman and MvsW. I can't really talk to much considering I live in the middle of a city and I'm hardly self reliant at all, not to say I wouldn't love to be one day. After my daughter is out on her own I'm taking to the woods or at least the rural country, lol. I love being solitary and wouldn't mind being a bit of a nomad too.

It was ok. I can see gaining some knowledge from it, as long as the man and woman quit talking about bears every time the camera comes back to them.
I definitely see your point... on the other hand, if I had large bear tracks that close to my house it would be a pretty popular topic of conversation. It has to have "drama" or no one would watch it - not on commercial TV anyway. Maybe PBS.

I found the whole show pretty mundane.

Yeah... same here. But there's no football this time of year and at least it's not "Dancing With the Amish" or whatever the heck else is on.
