I wonder if people could help me out.
I'm collecting local wood for making knife handles and now have quite a collection aging away.
Mountain Ash is always described as having light soft wood. What we have here in northern BC isn't light or soft.
Does anyone have information about the wood from this tree? If it grows in your area, and you happen to be out - I'd be grateful if you'd fire harden a branch and let me know if it seems to harden.
Thanks.
