Already asked this of CRK directly but I think their email correspondence must be backed up, so, I'll pose it here also.
I just received a Mountaineer II in trade.
and would like answers to the following:
1. The leather sheath is beautiful, but it could hold the knife more securely. Do you have any suggestions for making it tighter?
2. What is the reason for the smooth section in the middle of the thumb grooves on the spine of the knife. Seems strange, but I suppose Chris has a good reason for it.
Thanks for any help,
Lenny

1.I've got four of the CR Fixblades, Shadow III and Mountaineer I also did come out of the sheath pretty easy (no Problems with MK VI and Sable IV). I fixed a little piece of black leather on the inside, i guess it was with shoemaker's glue. Works good.
2. I have no Idea why there are two grooved areas instead of one, but it looks good, doesn't it? Maybe it's done by a machine!? I copied that look when I made some grooves into one of my other knives by hand.
