I asked one of my friends that is in mountain rescue and he uses one of these.
I asked why not a fixed blade or a more renowned knife or more "modern"?
Answer:
It has everything I need and nothing I dont, not cold to the touch, locks and can be used on gear. Up on a mountain a fixed blade is not your first primary tool when climbing, an alpine axe is. If he had to chose between a knife and one of these
he is taking the latter. The knife is for in camp chores mainly an maintenance of gear.
