I'd been wanting to mount my BK9 to my LBE. Yes, it's kinda big, but I wanted to none the less. Here it is on the suspender:
I ran some 550 cord through the lower eyelets on the sheath, around the metal loop (that would normally carry a FAK, or compass), then back through the eyelets:
Then cord locked the other side:
On the upper part of the sheath, I ran some 550 cord through the vertical straps, and simply tied it in a knot:
I also ran a small piece of 1/8 shock cord through the eyelets, and placed an end on it, to make an extra keeper, in case the main keeper comes undone:
What it looks like mounted:
Pulling the extra keeper over the handle:
Unsnapping the main keeper:
And pulling the 9:
This shows how far the blade will fall, if the main keeper accidentally came undone. Perhaps not the best in the world, but an extra security feature none the less. I actually have another idea in mind, but haven't made it yet:
And finally, a dumb looking animation I made:
And no, I can't put it in the sheath that easily, lol. Just reversed the photos. All in all, I'm satisfied with the way it feels. It's not too uncomfortable in any way. I was gonna make a back sling, but decided it was too hard to put the 9 back in the sheath. I was gonna make it so you could swing it to the front to remount, but this was an easier way to go.
