Mountin Man Giveaway

Congrats to the winner, but one mountain man is missing from the list.
One of the most obscure Mountain Men was a British fellow; Sir Neville Lilycrap. Story goes he left Britain to escape buggery charges, joined a group of trappers and headed out west in search of pelts. Once they got into the mountains, they were attacked by a pack of nasty ground squirrels. Only Sir Lilycrap survived the incident. Legend has it that Lilycrap wore a lady's fur coat, was terrified of night and was known to have a tot before the sun was over the yardarm. Chased by beavers and nipped by rabbits, Lilycrap made it through 6 feet of snow down from the mountain which he had lived on for nearly two days, eating only tree bark and his own fingernails. He found his way to a Red Roof Inn were he later died of a painful rectal itch. Decades later his great great great grandnephew would produce a survival television show and sell a knife.

Good choice by Rotte.

The second part of the contest was for the best mountain man story. This was really tough for me. I enjoyed everyone's entries and learned quite a bit. I'm not totally comfortable picking a winner from so many good entries, but the rules is the rules. You guys put a lot of work into this thread--thanks for making it such an interesting thread.

Special mention goes to Azshaman, Marcelo Cantu, bobbywett, and ArturoTostadoIII.

But the winner is ....

dingobubba for the story about Ben Lilly. Ben is a favorite character of mine and dingo did a great job with the story. Thanks again to all for their contributions. Hope you guys had as much fun with this as I did.

Dingo -- send me a p.m. with a shipping address and I'll order the flint and steel kit for you.

LOL! Cool! Thanks Rotte. Was a fun lil contest. Learned a few things too. I'll PM you after work. For some reason I can't send any out from here.
