Mounting a HF Portable Band Saw - how to?

You know the new table is backwards, right? The slit needs to face the other way so you can change belts without removing the table. Also, you might consider a leg on the table as the extra size puts a lot of torque on the two screws holding the original table to the saw.

No it's not. My design called for the slot in the back of the blade. ;) I considered doing it the other way, but I don't have to change blades very often and would rather remove two screws at that time, rather than have my work piece possibly get hung up on the slot in when feeding it into the blade. I just decided it would work better for me.

But I may take your advice about making a leg/post to support the table. I think that's a great idea.

The picture is not the best but there is a plan for this some where on the net. It is rock solid and you can pull it up to use the saw free hand, then place it back in the mount and your ready to go as a stationary saw. I have limited space in my shop so this was a good choice, I also used a piece of aluminum plate for a table that works well.

Hey great set up Dopic. they must have changed the design mine looks nothing like some of these.

Mine is a pretty basic mount as well but it has done very well. I went with the Lennox blades 18 TPI
