Move over BK5 and BK9, theres a new sheriff in town....

Oh id love to. Believe me. But for some odd reason (too much tv I reckon) the wife thinks that open carry only asks for trouble. I told her I respectfully disagree and believe the opposite is true. Plus she doesn't want our 2 1/2 year old to even know it exists. So I promised her I wouldn't carry until I had my permit and will keep it completely concealed. Both from the public and the kid.....for now at least. Then I told her to make me a sammich

Well, in my opinion, I think we need to teach kids about our guns. Kids will get curious if you don't teach them how something works, they will get a hold of it, and might end up injuring themselves.I say tell your wife that the safe thing to do is teach your kid about guns, and teach him how to make sure it is unloaded, and let him hold it, if he is old enough.

On the other side, I think open carrying is the best option but that's just me, more importantly it allows for a faster draw.

Thanks for hearing me out, good buddy.

:D

Tried open carry for awhile at first. Got tired of the sheep calling the boys in blue every time I went somewhere, and they get really irritated when you don't give them any personal information. :D Why no officer, actually open carry is legal and I don't have to give you my name, addy and dob. Am I being detained? Silence. No? Well then good day, thank you drive through. Sheriffs seem to be much cooler about things than local pd for whatever reason.

I've talked to a cop buddy of mine and.he said if I open carry be prepared to be hassled. People don't like to see em and the cops wanna make sure it's legal and registered. I'd rather avoid that hassle.

I'm going for my CCW by the end of the month. Open carry in CA? Dont think so, very sketchy as to when/if you can.

It did open up a lot of the sheriffs being willing to lax on the CCW tho, major plus!

well, one can do the open carry route, but you don't have to "be a d**k" to the responding cops. even if they don't know it's legal, and most surely do, just being friendly, talk about what THEY carry, give your name for their peace of mind, remind them that beyond that registered or not, you are legally able to carry that, and you ain't doing nothing, so the sheep can suck it :> they appreciate that. they hate the sheep too :>

eventually, the sheep will get used to it.

Sweet kukri Clich. So maybe one of the factory guys can chime in and tell us why we aren't getting these instead of the Machax? Not that the Machax isn't badass, but I'd take a Kuk all day long.Buying a Machax is going to have to wait til I have a 9 and a 16.My 5 is on it's way. Can't wait for you to test and see if you have carbon or SS. This bad girl with one of your etch jobs should truly be a sight to behold. Btw,stole your pic for my wallpaper/Becker porn file.Hope you don't mind.:D Great score man, very jealous!

cuz we're not?

the Machax is THE Becker design, imho... basically, the first with the Campanion. it's been out of production for TOO LONG, so... Machax is first. Ethan wants it, so ... there :> or so i would guess.

the Reinhardt version is cool. very cool. like the patrol machete, it's of a size that making them was trickier; but KaBar has the tooling now. we shall see?

now, if you were doing marketing 101, which would sell more? :) the tweeners! you're right! :D but the Machax will probably outsell the large khukri for now.

Clich,
How does it feel to be the most envied man in all of the Becker world? Yes I include myself among those that envy you your new khuk. Prolly the sweetest thing I've seen since I don't know when.
If I could get one of those and a Kimber custom .45 I could die happy or live a life filled with tales of zombie butchery.
Either way it looks like you scored a double serving of mashed potatoes and AWESOMESAUCE!!!!!

Uhhhhh. Open carry is not legal without a handgun carry permit in TN. So be careful of state laws. However, with a permit, you can carry open or concealed in TN. Knife laws in TN are pretty lenient though. You can conceal anything under 4 inches. And open carry anything larger as long as you aren't carrying with intent to go armed.

Anyways. Still a nice blade. Still think BH#00 needs to be on the sheath. :D

I dunno, when I am just out walking my dog and they roll up with weapons at the ready and lie to my face I find I am not terribly inclined towards politeness and will happily spend the next 20 minutes being the most irritating and annoying sheep on the planet.

Can't wait to lay hands on this blade though, I got some mean sheath plans in store for it. Gotta kill some animals and rip their skins off for tanning. Maybe we should do a poll or something.

Ah not most envied. Others have em to. The best part is that we don't see user pics since they are in fact so rare. Most are kept pristine. Mine? Will be used. Used hard actually. Its going to be part of an very small invitation only passaround. So we will see user pics. Its also making an appearance at the Beckerhead west gathering so those folks will get a chance to try it out. Share the wealth. However being that it is so rare and expensive it won't be open to the public. Sorry. I already have the list of guys who are getting it. Live vicariously. And write your senator demanding the reinstatement. Perhaps thicker tho. Something like .22 would be awesome but.I'd settle for 3/16. Actually I'd settle for it to be reinstated made out of papers mache. I'd still buy one.

hopefully you actually go out without id, so you can say "i don't have id" :)

if they are pointing guns at you, and wasting your time, file a report and/or sue them :) worth $$$$$ i'm told. if you aren't under arrest, and you get a gun pointed at you, it's actionable. think of your emotional damage :D

Have to file that away for future use when I want a new truck I guess. The emotional damage to my poor dog cannot be measured your honor, you know since she can only woof and stuff.

people open carry around here a lot, and the cops don't go running in with guns drawn, well, not anymore :) lawsuits are good teach tools.

Prolly cause im short, short people are mean I hear. Short person short dog, could snap at any moment they were thinking.

Which is why I said "Buying a Machax is going to have to wait til I have a 9 and a 16." See,I'm in line for my tweener and Machax. But being a looong time Kuk fan,a Becker Kuk would trump everything else, for me at least.Maybe once I actually OWN a Machax,I'll be of a different opinion.Who knows,it could replace a kuk design blade for me all together,as my BK2 has replaced everything else I have in the 5-6 inch size. My next up(on it's way) is a 5.Which is promptly getting "Cliched"(stripped, etched and wearing micarta. That one of Clichs just floors me,love it!Thanks for the link to the etch process thread BTW Clich) Got some AZWelke kydex on the way for my 2,but I'm on the fence between kydex and leather for the 5.Really want something I can carry scout style for the 5.A hedgehog for the 5 would be perfect. So looking like April before the Machax and tweeners actually hit the street from what I've read. All good things to those who wait I guess. Besides, who am I to argue with the wishes of Ethan, without which we wouldn't have such wonderful toys to begin with!

Ethan wishes they were out sooner :)

it's not like HE sank the shipment container :D

i hear jeff randal is a powerful good swimmer :>
