That is a good one! I even have the VCD! (er, actually it's my bro's). Alan Rickman is the consummate actor, from drama to dead pan comedy!
One of the most inspiring films of all time. For me though, I place it with October Sky, also a marvelous true-to-life story with an extremely similar biography.

Yeah, I guess Titanic was a very bad comparison. 
To let everybody know it is about revolutionary surgical procedures, more specifically the invention and pioneering of cardiac bypass. Mos Def, the hip-hop star, was nominated for three major awards for outstanding acting in his role including a golden Globe and an Emmy. I wouldn't even know who he was if it was not for this movie. Kyra Sedgewick also has a part in the film. Check it out if you get the chance.
