Moving !! Means a drastic change to the edc

UKPK in orange!

The G-10 UKPKs are great 3" knives. The choil gives them plenty of handle (I wear an XL glove, and even that is a little snug), and being slipjoints, they are pretty law safe too. The design makes them safer to use than normal slipjoints as well, mine function quite well as work knives too. Still if a lock is an absolute must, the Caly 3 is the same knife with a lockback.

I really like my Spyderco Sage 1 and Sage 2, but I found their handles were a little bulky in the pocket for only having a 3" blade. The quality feel on them is great though, and they are one hell of a value for the price.

I found that the MiniGrip handle felt small in my hands, its a 3.5 finger handle. If you get custom handles, they can really make the blade shine though. I have a Cuscadi handled Ritter MiniGrip, and it fits my hands very well.

For pure small and light, the CRKT Eros is a lightweight dream. 1.3 ounces, Ti framelock, 3" blade, IKBS flipper, and the handle fits my hand as well. Much better than the small Seb did (which was a 3.5 finger knife for me too).

Dont base what you spend your money on rumor and assumptions. Look up the laws. If it isn't in writing it doesn't mean anything. No offense to your uncle but cops aren't there to memorize laws.

3 inch is in writing anything locking over 3 inches is considered a weapon.

Spyderco Sage, Kershaw Leek, Kershaw Techno, Benchmade Emissary, 707, 907, mini-grip.

I carried a mini-grip for many years and didn't worry about it but right now I prefer my slightly larger knives.

I wonder how feasible it would be to find used knives like the Para and regrind the blades to be shorter than 3". Especially if you find knives with broken tips and regrind them.

I'd think about a small FB, horizontal cross-draw carry. You can wear it openly and it'll still almost disappear. There are a bunch that will meet the 3" blade length requirement and will also be less expensive than some of the folders mentioned. One folder that hasn't been mentioned, however, is A G Russell's Acies 2. It should be perfectly fine according to your uncle's description. You could also look for a Spyderco Bob T slipjoint. It'll be a very solid knife when open because of the detent system he designed for the knife, but it's still a slippie.

Otherwise, I'd look real hard at the CQC14 or the Native 5 that have already been mentioned.

Lawmakers think, or fail to think, and pass silly laws restircting the things people can do. AR had a law that said that carry a knife with a blade 3.5 inches and you are a criminal. the AKTI got the to recend that almost 100 year old law. SC had a 2 inch limit and AKTI also talked them into getting rid of a law law that none of the currant legislators knew existed.

Because there are so many places in the US with this kind of foolisness I design most of my knives in a 2.995 inch blade version.

Most everybody will have knives that will fit your bill

The DE knife laws seem very similar, if not identical to CO laws. On a state level (not municipal) they are completely left open to interpretation. Unfortunately most cops believe that it is THEIR interpretation that matters. They, like many in this country, are afraid and biased with training to keep it that way.

The word "concealed" remaining undefined in the law & there being other terms that are is a blatant display of an attempt for "just" use of the law. Because the word "weapon" is tacked in there a logical person would seek other "weapon" laws to find that the word "concealed" is clearly defined in gun laws. "Open carry" and "concealed" are polar opposites and semi-concealed apparently does not even exist. So a visible clip is neither concealed nor openly carried. In the DE knife laws "concealed" remains undefined as does "NOT concealed." When the law is that abstract, only the situation/confrontation can dictate whether a Jury sees that thing in your pocket as a "tool" or a "weapon." It is completely honest to refer to the laws of a MUCH deadlier weapon's laws, being handguns. By the definitions therein, ANY visibility is not concealed even if there is just a little bulge.

The fact that potential = Felony is a crime against humanity and a significant stepping stone to increasing lunacy, idiocy, and irrational fear that is becoming our peers. I'm not religious but the solution is so very simple. Love thy neighbors & do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

my 3" clip point voyager outcuts any other 3" folder I own...including delicas, mini grip, mini sere 2000, mini recon 1, cryo, and others

some people may find this blasphemous, but it really is my experience.
