Grew up in your average neighborhood, but both grandparents lived in rural areas. Always wanted to get off the man path, and out where things wont reach you as eaisly. Finally getting my chance.
Dont get me wrong, im not 300miles from a gas station, but its out of the city limits, and far from where average problems will reach.
My father owns the land that touches mine. We have a 40x60 shop. He is a retired Machine Shop owner and an old school Tool & Die maker. We both have water wells, numerous generator options, including gas, diesel, and LP as well as a fair ammt of SHTF provisions.

We were suppose to close last Fri, but the poor weather prevented some outside work. The inside is pretty much done. Only some finishing work, and small details lack. But for the most part, its almost ready to go. Water, elec and heat is all on.

All we lack, is some landscaping, and the driveway. The rain is the only thing holding us up. Which is just as well, because we didnt want to have to rush to move in during the holidays.

Just some info.
Its 2344 sqft heated
about 2800 under roof
House is both gas and elec
2car garage
4 bed, 3 bath, 2 story.
We opted to have an upstairs room added, as the initial price was dirt cheap. Though, we decided to finish the room out at our leisure since we really dont need the space right now.
The upstairs is a 14x18 room with a full bath.
I didnt make any pics of the guest bedrooms. They are pretty basic, 13x15, and a full bath.

I should mention, there are no pictures of gun storage, but I assure you. Its all been arranged, and everything has its place, and is well secure.

And no, you damn yankees, there is NO BASEMENT! I live in Louisiana, not -200 below Moosejaw North Dakota.

This is the forming up.
Over in the far left, you can see my fathers and mine shop.
He is building on the land immediately to my left.
We both share the pond.

Living room.
April is hell-bent on putting the TV over the fireplace. Please tell her this is a bad idea for more than a few reasons.

Back porch. On the right is the Master br, on the left is a guest BR.

Back porch. This is one thing I wanted. A large back porch for sitting, grilling, ect. Also, I had a gas line ran out here. So I can just plumb my grill to it and not have to mess with propane jugs.
You can see the bung between the brick and right window.

Master bath shower and tub. April wanted the Jacuzzi tub. Ill probably never set foot in it.

Unfinshed upstairs room. We plan to finish it ourselves once we get in and settled. Elec, plumbing and HVAC is already ran.

Wow. Very nice. Congrats!

As for a TV over the fireplace, a friend of mine has a Sharp Aquos mounted over his. He's had no problem with heat.

The only downside to having the TV over the fireplace is that it has to be high enough that the knives on display on the mantle don't block the view. ;)

Beautiful home.....me personally I would not mount a TV over the fireplace, detracts from the natural beauty of the fireplace , hang a family portrait and if no family a picture of you & her to remind yourself daily of your blessings !!!

Wow, that's a nice looking house. We'd better see some good tutorial threads from you now that you have your own land to mess around on!

Great home dude !

Are the walls on this picture made from cardboard and wood ?

The brown material with the writing on it that you are seeing is Insulation (to keep the house warm in the winter and cool in the summer).
