Moving?

<KA-snipakowski> OK we don't have snow to shovel, but we have sand and when a solid cloud of dirt rolls through town leaving visibility at 0 and grounding all the planes, it's down right miserable. And dirt goes through the windows and is just awful. At least the snow pretty much stays outside and looks pretty for awhile.

I don't know. I just made the move down here to southern Florida and wish to hell I was still in Wyoming. I should have taken some good advice and come down for a visit before relocating, but I just couldn't swing it. I also should have investigated the individuals that I came to work for better (long story).

The people down in this area are angry, dirty, mean, don't like dogs and this town has a black cloud floating over it. Okeechobee (up north) is nice, but the other towns around here suffer from very bad crime, unemployment and drug abuse. The housing costs are outrageous (and I just came from a high cost area too). Aw heck, I'm bitching and will shut up.

I guess what I was trying to say before spewing out that was the grass isn't always greener over the hill. :)

Tried to warn, ya.

Go get a concealed weapons permit and cheer up!

The hurricane is headed my way, too.

Yeah ya did Steve. My Wyoming CCW will work for now. I don't know if I'll be around long enough to get a Florida one. Sounds like Alberto won't be so bad (coming from a newbie). But at least it'll postpone my signing a lease for a couple of days while I figure out if I'm staying or going. I mean, who wants to move during a tropical storm.

Florida can be a very nice place to live.

I have found that a balance has to be struck between a place to live that is affordable and having no civilization around.

Unless you have traveled FL alot, it is hard to do.

I suppose any state is like that though.

The pay scales are about half down here of what they are in NJ. But, other things are cheaper so it works out OK.

If I can help you give a holler. I work for a major realtor. (no I don't sell real estate)

It might be possible for you to land a job in an area you like down here.

Well, our offer (contigent on selling our house in Hemet, CA) was accepted for a 1 acre with manufactured home 3bd/2ba in Cuba Missouri. There is a workshop at least

All said and done, I said when we moved here that I would die here and although it could still happen (serve her right :foot: ) the odds are low.

SWMBO

John Mortimer and Rumpole, never ceases to make me smile.

When I first ran across this, it was just so, so, right.

SWMBO is complaining that we're not moving next door to where her sister and mother are "I always have to kiss your ass."

I won't go into the reply, but I got red under the color about THAT!

Latest news, a guy is cleaning up the yard and hauling away my precious wood and taking my truck in trade:eek:  :grumpy: :thumbdn: :(

Hell, I got family in Cuba, MO. Stopped through for a visit last summer.

I never imagined that any liveable home in California would only be worth a modest home & 1 acre out in Missouri. I once remember Don Nelson talking about the value of his home, which aparently wasn't very big. He could have built one of the biggest mansions in the county here with his own game preserve for that much money.

Porn Link

Here are pix of........

Machette stand delivered to my wife's eye surgeon.

Tachi stands in the works.

Dovetailed khukuri stands showing how they connect..

My new home in Cuba Missouri (unless some glitch occurs).

My newest grandson Ryan and his father, Brent.
Poor little guy. Was born with 3 holes in his heart and required immediate sugury. He won't eat and fell down the day before the pix so he's got a red nose and forehead.

I'd appreciate any smoke y'all could send up.

I hope the link works!

So what did you think of Cuba? Twenty miles to anything :D

I did see a California listing for a "stone house" with bunk house and acerage reasonably priced East by Northeast of San Diego. "Fixer-upper" for under $50K.
