Well I can't speak for myself from nearly three years ago but now I would say so because it's extremely brittle and was developed before the more balanced compositions were made with lower chromium for a greater percentage of vanadium carbide. S90V or S110V would both be better choices.

Edit: By the way, MPL-1 has 45% carbide volume. For comparison, S30V has 14.5% and S90V and S110V have around 22-25%.
