i was sittin on the couch back in 2003-04 drinking a few beers when this info mercial came on with all kinds of knives. so i watched....and drank....and watched.....and drank then all of a sudden im on the phone placing an order. i cant remember but i think i got 40 or so knives for $50. anywho when they came in the mail they looked nice but you could tell they were all junk so i gave most of them away but kept this one because it just looks nice.....big an scary etc etc. now im back into knives (no more junk, lesson learned) so i dug it out of the draw and have this burning curiosity to see what would happen if i dropped it on the floor. would it break in half???? bounce then break in half??? who knows but i think its time to send Mr ''all show and no go'' to the knife graveyard in the sky

btw........its a gem from FROST CUTLERY:barf: and might soon find its self locked into my vise..........any ideas on how to ''test'' this thing ?????

Use them to baton through frozen logs in the cold weather and see how long they survive!

Wow...doesn't look like the normal stuff. No tacky etchings on the blades of a bear eating a moose? How odd.
And the handles don't have any interesting colors...how boring.

Actually, doesn't "look" too bad for a CCN item.

I think the quality is pretty much covered by this video. If you decide to drop or bang your's on a table you might want to be careful.

There's also a recently resurrected thread where the merits are debated and discussed:

...........damn!!!! wow ... no way im testing this thing after watching that. more like drop it and run

Frosts Cutlery is the former name of the Mora knives, so if youre lucky then they aint that bad ;)

No, they are completely different companies. Frosts of Sweden makes good knives that are cheap. Frost Cutlery makes cheap knives that are not good.

Frost(s) was the quality knife maker from Mora, Sweden.

Frost Cutlery is the complete crap maker from USA whose knives are made ??? (China or Pakistan I'm guessing).

That (s) on the end makes a BIG difference.

Reminds me of the Neil Young song...

"Saw it on the tube
Bought it on the phone
Now you're home alone
It's a piece of crap"

I think breaking them would prove nothing to anyone. We all expect that they will break...some of us may be surprised at how much abuse they will take prior to breaking (or not) but they will break (the same is true of expensive knives too BTW)

With it being the holiday season...perhaps there is someone you know that would appreciate them? I bet they will take a usable edge, and if used to cut things they will likely hold up fairly well. YOU bought them because they appealed to you...you realized all the others were crap, but still there was something about these that made you keep them? Perhaps there are others out there that are in the place you were? Find one of those people and make them happy!

No, I am not all high and mighty...I just figure if I thought some knife was worth buying (and keeping over the years) and now I think it is garbage....I am pretty sure I am the one that changed. There are MANY people out there using lower quality blades daily...and they are darn happy to have them. You have an opportunity here!

Drinking and ordering knives..... Teeheehee :p
Looks like you got " Frost -Bit " :D

Give 'em to some younguns for Xmas presents.

I had a friend who knows better buy a bunch of that $hit a few years ago.I told him he was nuts.He bragged up for a few days after he got them.I asked him if he was still happy with the purchase after a couple months passed,no comment. It's all geared towards newbs and one time buyers, after the first time most people should know better.
