Mr All show and NO go

Go in the back yard and throw them at logs until you are bored then leave them there.

I was watching a similar deal the other night, couldn't sleep started flicking around the channels and came across a knife show..

they had 24 throwing knives for like $19, man I was so tempted.. I mean throwing knives??

then I thought, naw I have enough junk laying around this place as it is..

I think breaking them would prove nothing to anyone. We all expect that they will break...some of us may be surprised at how much abuse they will take prior to breaking (or not) but they will break (the same is true of expensive knives too BTW)

With it being the holiday season...perhaps there is someone you know that would appreciate them? I bet they will take a usable edge, and if used to cut things they will likely hold up fairly well. YOU bought them because they appealed to you...you realized all the others were crap, but still there was something about these that made you keep them? Perhaps there are others out there that are in the place you were? Find one of those people and make them happy!

No, I am not all high and mighty...I just figure if I thought some knife was worth buying (and keeping over the years) and now I think it is garbage....I am pretty sure I am the one that changed. There are MANY people out there using lower quality blades daily...and they are darn happy to have them. You have an opportunity here!

why not give 'em away or throw em in your toolbox, etc. destroying them proves nothing... besides theres always room for beater knives we've all had them and sometimes they've surprised us!

He paid ~$1 for that knife, who cares if he breaks it? I wouldn't give that knife to anyone, plus it would be more fun to break it anyways.

if your set on breaking them i think you should go out to the woods(or backyard if ya got one) with a camera and show how well they do beating them about the trees n such make a small campfire, baton thru some thick wood n such.. and post your results:)

How about giving them a fair test and see how they do, could be fun if they turned out to decent knives.

id give them away but im afraid with that big a knife somebody would try an do big things with it and get hurt...esp after watching that video.
were going camping next monday so ill just bring them with me and try some wood chopping and post a video

agreed. this would be interesting to see.
my suggestion, however, is that you plan for the worst and wear protective eyewear, gloves and, most importantly, trust in Tha WU and protect ya neck
:D

Looks like a great paperweight :p

I had one of those cheesy Chinese-made survival knives a long, long time ago. It looked ok and it held up to regular use, but it wouldn't take an edge worth a damn. I'm interested to see if you can at least get it sharp enough to push cut paper.

$50 for a whole bunch of knives, I would expect that they are junk - I'd be surprised if they didn't live up to expectations.

Yeah I'm curious to see if you can actually sharpen them for cutting. Let us know. :)

Yup!

I would use it to dig weeds up in the yard, or keep it in the truck in the side door pocket.

I would keep hold of them, just as knives you can use for the nasty jobs you don't want to use your decent knives on. or as short term spares if you don't have your decent knives available (sent your decent FB for a custom sheath for example)

or if you do break them, keep them as a reminder why not to buy poor quality knives again.
