My review of the case:
For use in the knife giveaway, the case has some nice features and some drawbacks.
Pluses:
* Sturdy construction
* It fits very well in a USPS fixed rate priority mail box.
* the elastic seems to be holding up ok.
* during the "choosing" and "waiting for the next drawing" period, the case is really handy.
Minuses:
* Given the range of sizes of the knives and that we are shipping them, the Elastic isn't really enough unless you you figure out how to pad the case.
* When packing Fixed blades, you have to wrap them separately.
* for nice knives, I don't trust the elastic, since if a knife gets loose, it could bounce around and hit a scale or bolster.
It's definitely holding up.
As a side point. Last winter, I sent the box out and the USPS truck got caught in a snowstorm and the box got wet.
This time, I put the case in a plastic bag and then slid the case into the USPS box. I was sure that things would stay dry unless they dunked the box in the sink.
Not much of a review for Amazon. Having received the box a few times, once in the case, once not in the case, I like the case.
Unpackaging and packaging the knives safely is a part that I dread and it alwasy seems I am low on bubblewrap when the package is due to go out.
