Mr Knife's Never-ending Give Away: Round 62

thanks for all the info. What length is the queen whittler?

I am not fully sure on the length, but the previous GAW post has a good picture of it next to a full sized Camillus trapper. So it's probably 3.5 to 3.75".

The buck 112 is amazing, but heavy for me, and I have my original 110 from the 80's, and I don't carry it. The 105 is pretty enough that it can be my only fixed blade and I would be happy.

There is a case carbon jack that is also tempting.
I picked up a 110 Lite from the round I had it.

I’m in, but I injured my leg and can’t get to the basement for pics. Most carried knife when travelling or out in the woods is a Victorinox Compact. Good selection of tools, including a pen, if you feel moved to write something down.

The box arrived after an extended stay with USPS. I heard there was a snow storm and the poor box must have been hit by an avalanche. The box was soaked and much of the inside was somewhat damp. Anything cardboard inside took a hit and a few of the carbon steel knives experienced some rusting. But most of them are intact and all of them are still good users.

This is what I took on top and what I left on bottom.

The CRKT really is a nice knife for the price. G10 shadow handles, thin blade stock, decent grind, good fit and finish, and great walk and talk. Had to have it. Replaced with a Kershaw Indian Ford in Carbon Fiber that has been sitting for a while. All stainless 8CR3MoV like the CRKT it replaced
Camillus Trapper replaced by Craftsman camp knife since camp knives are popular right now due to the CEC drop. Maybe someone want to try the pattern in something besides a Camp King. I have been wanting a trapper, and this one is right in my favorite size range.
Opinel will be my folding pairing knife in my travel kit for this Thanksgiving. Replaced by an old Colonial Mountain Guide with tons of tools and all carbon steel blades. Bit of wear on this one, but an interesting piece that someone may enjoy.

The S&M Stockman Whittler was really tempting, but it is just a tad smaller than I like. It was hard to let that one go, but in the spirit of getting some new knives in the box, it remains for the next fortunate winner. I guess the bolsters or pins are carbon steel because it did get some rust on the bolster and pins. None on the blades and springs, which are stainless, but it is no longer fit for a safe queen. The box was also pretty much destroyed. So anyone not wanting to put the first blemish on that knife won't have any worries now.
