Welcome to The Box.

Here are the rules:

• Be a member of the Porch (minimum 50 posts to the “Traditional" forum).
• Post "I'm in”

• Paying members of BF only.

If You Win The Box:

• When you receive the box, take any number of knives and replace them with knives of equivalent (or greater) value.
• Then, hold your own GAW to keep this fun Porch tradition going. Take and post photos!!!
• Post a link to your new GAW thread in this thread.
• Pick a new winner and mail them the box.

I included those signed up for the last round. Post "I'm in" if you want to be added to the list!!

Earlier today, I received the knife box from Gary W. Graley Gary W. Graley , and here's what was in it:

We've got several Cases, two GECs, two US-made Old Timers, that Benchmade slip joint, and more.

There was also a wooden box from Gary (not pictured).

After an afternoon of contemplation, I decided to take the following:

I took the BPS friction folder for one reason: I put that in the box at least 20 rounds ago, so its survival in the box means it's time to hang it up.
I took the GEC Beer Cub, because I like beer a lot.
The Bear MGC Folding Hunter - since I have a mild obsession with Bear & Sons knives.
And the Case Texas Toothpick. Also, about 20 rounds ago, I put in a GEC 12, and haven't owned a toothpick since.
My daughter swiftly claimed the wooden box, and I allowed it, after confirming with Gary that it was not meant to stay with the box permanently.

I'm putting in the box:

A Remington Silver Bullet Trapper.
A GEC 21 to replace the GEC I took.
A purple Bear & Sons slipjoint (see above)
A Lionsteel Beerlow (also, see above)

I will run this until Thursday the 19th, and get it moving along real fast.
I will roll Gary's list over. If anyone wants to get in or out, let me know in this thread!

Thanks for keeping this going but I think I'll sit out on this GAW for a while. Have a crazy schedule for a while and probably wouldn't have the time to give this GAW the attention it deserves. Thanks

I really liked your approach of taking back the ones that haven't been picked up over the last 20 or so rounds Side O'Beef Side O'Beef . I think that I will take that approach the next time I decide to enter (won't be for a while yet). I was glad to see that most of my contributions quickly got selected, but I am suspecting that the Boker I added will be one I take back in a few years. C'est la vie.

Edit to add: I also wanted to mention that the beat-up CK pocket slip was for the Beer Scout that I had added in my round, I had assumed it would go with that beer scout. If you wanted it for the Beer Cub, I think that would be appropriate, but I really hadn't intended the slip to be an ongoing white elephant cluttering up the passaround box. If you don't want it, please consider tossing it in the garbage.

The slip fits the Beer Cub perfectly! The slip is no longer with the box. It now lives with what is clearly its old friend.

As for my BPS, frankly I am surprised it never got taken. I think it's pretty nice. Maybe friction folders just aren't a thing, 'round these here parts...
