It has been a long time since I got to participate in this passaround, and a couple of the knives I picked up from my first time are still carried today. I really like getting to pick from such a large variety of knives and finding the right size, finish, and action from a mix of vintage and new traditional knives.

There has been a good bit of churn in the selection lately so hopefully you see something that might be worth taking a closer look at. Please join in and help us keep the tradition alive.

Entry duration currently unknown, but probably about a week. Might draw next Friday or the Monday after depending on interest and schedule.

Housekeeping:

Rules:
● Be a paying member of the Porch.
● Post I'm in if interested.

If you are the winner:
● Select the knife or knives you want.
● Replace what you chose with at least equal value knives.
● Use your judgement on vintage knives.
● Please try not to put in more than you take. A couple rounds ago the box was split due to knife count and shipping cost.

I am carrying over the entrants from last round. If you do not to be involved, please let me know.

Please post below if you want to join, or skip a round!

Here is what you are playing for. Photos with main blade open because that is something I always wanted to see on these and was curious why so many never posted the knives with blades open.

Notes on the fixed blades
The 3 non-mora fixed blades are all custom blades. I figured I would mention this for those not wanting to go through old threads looking for I formation on these. I found the custom blades hard to price and didnt feel I could accurately match the value. But I'm not a fixed blade guy anyway so I don't have many to swap.
Far Left is a Bogdan custom in wolfram special carbon steel. Stadium grind and very snug sheath.

Middle is a Ray Kirk - Raker forged kneck knife in 5160 or other carbon steel. I really liked this little knife but I couldn't decide if I would carry it or not. Really handy size though.

Right is a custom Backwoods Knife Co. Hunter in carbon damascus. Nice profile, but a little thick at the edge.

The mora is a typical scandi grind mora.

Here is what is new for this round:
Shefield pruner in stag
Case splitback whittler. Not many whittlers in the box and I know someone mught want to try one. I got it from the GAW split and it didn't speak to me.
Old Timer 77OT USA muskrat with full blades. Great vintage OT.
Boker Premium Stock Knife in jigged synthetic with full blades. My only 4" stockman with round bolsters.
I also put in a little pocket slip and I made that doesnt require any replacement item. If you like it, take it.

Here is what came out from last round.
Portuguese folder in ram horn. I had no idea this knife would grab me, but the action was nice and the blade is ground well. One of the surprise picks for me which is always fun
Shefield folding paring knife in stag. Seemed more useful to my needs than the large pruner
Case medium stockman square bolster. I'm a square bolster kinda guy and I gave away a beater stockman of this same pattern.
Remington Barlow with some blade wear. I dont have many Barlow and I was watching this passaround for a chance at one. The pen blade is heavily worn but the main has life left. The covers are great and still has good action.

I had the Case Copperhead in my hand a half dozen times, but at the end of the day decided to let it pass since I couldn't find a good replacement to put back in.

I'll add detailed photos of a few others to give everyone a refreshed view of some of the vintage knives here, which are really nice little gems.

First highlight is this really fantastic Wards 4-blade stockman (?) In stag covers. I was amazed all the blades had so much steel left on them. Probably the biggest sleeper knife in the box in my opinion. If the clip blade was full size it would be gone. Someone who loves old knives and doesn't mind smaller blade length will drool over this knife. The action is surprisingly good as well.

USA Buck 303. The main blade is a bit of a bear trap pull, but the blades are in good shape and it is a USA version.

Camillus texas jack. Just wanted to show the blades here that have plenty of life left. Another small knife that just needs a little clean up.

Case Peanut in Abalone scales. Beautiful little knife and it has freaking SCISSORS as the secondary instead of a pen blade! This is a great package for anyone who likes small knives. The scissors wasn't mentioned by the last participant, but I think that is the biggest selling point.

Here are a couple in-hand shots for the small fixed blades to show relative size. I went back and fourth on the forged integral neck knife but in the end folders suit my use better right now. I think the Bogdan would be a cool fixed blade pocket carver with the keen scandi grind. Or for someone who likes wood craft but wants a smaller edc size blade.

Happy Friday. Looking for a few more participants before the drawing next week. If you see something cool jump in for a chance to swap for a new blade.
