Mrknives wife here...i'm just wondering why there is'nt one comment on these knives?? I thought they were absolutley gorgeous and i cant beleieve theres not one comment on them...that really disturbs me..just cant understand why...good or bad i know someone somewhere has something to say about em so come on lets hear it

I like them.
But, like a tattoo, scrimshaw work can be a tricky sale.

IT is either over the top well done, or an effort.
I think your scrimshaw work is good, but not the best I have seen, so for me it undermines the knife in general.

As well, the polished bolsters, particularly the fishtail look, doesnt seem to flow for me.

I would think black bolsters or dark, with ivory that has cracks and character, would help the scrimshaw to fit in better, it would be less of a portrait on a canvas.

Good luck with your sale.

I'm going to send this thread in link form, via email,to a client & friend, I think might love these , they are beautiful

I think he made some good points. I could go with damascus but a variety is always the best so some plain blades would be knife. Since your scrimshaw is all hand done I really do enjoy it and it is offered at a great price (just a good price for the knife overall).

sorry it took so long to reply .thank VCM3 i do a better scrimshaw work this was my fest 2 i done in the last 5 year's there's not that much call for it where i live at so i do maybe 2 to 4 a year
