I changed the name of this thread because there was a lot of positive support for this idea.

There is a current thread that shows some great pics of one man's Grail knife, that everybody really can enjoy and appreciate.

And no doubt there are a lot of folks who use search functions to look at the knives they wished they owned.

Has Busse Combat Knife Co. ever produced a calendar?

Maybe there could be a thread for posting Grail knives, 12 could be chosen for high quality photos, and then published yearly?

I would pay for that type of calendar. Motorcycles, cars, and monster trucks don't really interest me anymore. Although I am always a sucker for bulldogs, a BUSSE calendar to mark the days would be great. I was almost bold enough to include desk blotters, but that seemed too much for such a small idea.

Would anybody else buy such a novelty.

There is no intent for this to be something that shows more naked flesh than naked steel.

How about a calendar featuring seasonally appropriate knives modeled by some of the Busse crew.

I had my own grail thread. Everyone should go on a Grail Quest.

A Busse calendar would probably do well.

Spyderco has done something similar for the past few years. I don't have much photography chops, but I always thought it was an awesome contest:

Whoa, whoa, whoa... let's not take the nekkid flesh off the table. How about 50/50? :D "Busse's & Babes 2017" could be epic :eek: :thumbup:

Agreed.

However, there would probably only be a two week window to order one and it would be delivered 3 months into the calendar year.

The intent might be a two week window...but they would sell out in 4-6 days.
I'd figure mid March to mid April for shipping ;)
 
A calendar is a great idea. I would also love to see a nice book of ALL the knives that Busse has made over the years. With a little Busse history about how they came to be.
 
A calendar is a great idea. Its also great PR for people unaware of the product line. I would imagine some nice pics would sell a nice or two. Pictures say a thousand words as its said.
 
This is actually a great idea, you should change the thread title to "Photos for Busse knife calendar!", or something similarly official.

I have no knife photos to post right now, but quite a few members of this board are accomplished photographers and have shown some great images of their knives.

Let people post their pictures, and make sure to bump this thread at the beginning of each month. Just like the B13 thread, occasional bumps are beneficial.

How about categories, like "Bussekin received this month", "Bussekin used this month", or month specific themes.

You could even put up surveys so people can vote for the photo of the month.

This is a really nice idea, would love to see you make it happen!
