Mr. Moderator,close this thread please.

I'd buy both a calendar and a coffee table book of photos and data about all the knives Busse has produced. And by the way, I received an email before the first of the year from photobucket about having a calendar made from my photos. I considered it, but don't have that many different photo yet to make a 12 month calendar. Only have 5 Busse knives and one on the way. But it might be an idea for some of you all who have an extensive collection.:D

Wow! This thread became more than I could have imagined.

What needs to be done to make it happen?

Especially the coffee table book. That was THE idea that would have staying power!

I think the calendar idea is awesome; Magpul used to make some really nice calendars, I got them while they made them, got to check if they made one for 2016, but they were excellent.

I apologize to all the ladies at BUSSE and any forumites who believe this is what I intended. If you read my initial post I think it was mentioned. Words like, "naked steel NOT naked bodies.

Please kill this thread before anybody else decides to ad more of this material to it.

Yeah, if you want that kind of thing you can find it anywhere on the internet.

I thought the original, knife focused idea was good.
 
I think for the most part, most people would want the blades. I agree, if you want the ladies that can be found anywhere. I would like a tastefully made Busse calendar that I can happily hang in the shop or at one of our stores without getting in trouble with anyone.
 
Sorry guys, I didn't mean to offend anyone, the calendar pics I posted were from a Magpul calendar, and just girls in swimsuits with guns; I see worse when I go to the beach in summer here in So Cal so I didn't think they would be offensive but I was wrong.
My sincerest apologies, I still support the idea of a calendar, girls or no girls with knives, or just knives to keep it kosher. Again, I didn't mean any harm or offense, please forgive me.
 
I do think a Busse photo album would be great. Face or "avatar" style, I have met several folks from Busse, but no idea what the others look like

Its not an issue with me personally. I think from my point of view, they did not want to offend any of the ladies at Busse. I have never personally met them, but on the phone they seem nice enough. Yes, you are correct lots of other companies put out calendars with ladies on them holding their product in some sort of attraction dress. I think though in our society with such a wave PC going on, these calendars will be gone soon. I know we were not allowed to have them when I worked for a couple of major corporations. I can understand. It was always the most hideous/obese/gruesome lady that complained about them though lol. The pretty girls did not seem to mind. At least from the conversations I had as a member of management. On the other hand, when a lady had a guy or one of the firemen calendars up, there were never any complaints and they seemed to stay. So there is a double standard there. I digress. I would love to see a calendar made especially with some of the classic blades that we don't see anymore. There are lots of things Busse could make into a calendar without including any pictures of the ladies and I feel it would sell equally as well.
 
AFAIK you can use Thread Tools to close your own thread. But if we are back on track, you may not need to.
 
I don't think people are offended by it, well I can't speak for the Busse women mentioned but I know I am not. It's just that you can go to any subpar mall kiosk and buy a calendar with women just like that on it. Definitely one with them holding guns, probably one with them holding knives. And if you want scantily clad women, why not just go online.

I'm new to Bussekin knives, so I was interested in a calendar that showed classic, rare, or just cool knives in use or with good photography.
 
For my part, I was just joking around, having fun. Sorry if I contributed to the derailment, no offense intended.

Still think it's a cool idea. I am a big fan of Spyderco's calendar contest and have been amazed with the quality of the forum members' submissions over there. From what I've seen here, I think this group could come up with some killer shots as well.
