MrKnife’s Box o’ Knives Number 39

I’m slowly going through the box and these two jumped out at me. The imperial stockman (a pattern I don’t use) and this equal end (cigar) two blade beauty. It has excellent proportions. The tang stamp only says U.S.A.View attachment 1552131
Alan, twice I quoted a post of yours in the Totin Today thread in which you asked about the handle material on this Imperial stockman. But both sets of multi quotes disappeared (due to "technical difficulties") before I had time to comment on them. I doubt if I'll try to invoke any "third time is a charm" rule, and just give up on most of those posts from Sunday and Monday, but I can at least respond to your request here.

I have an Imperial stockman just like the one pictured, and I'd have guessed it was some kind of nylon handle. When I saw your request, I tried Googling "Imperial Ireland stockman" and found one hit (on AAPK, I think) that claimed the handles were made of "glass reinforced Zytel". Zytel is, in fact, some kind of nylon, so I apparently guessed right on my first try! :)

Thanks Gary. I'm in shock. I dislike multi blade knives but this one has been with me for about 10 days now. It's a keeper. Zytel it is.

Ok. Enough hemming and hawing. My choices are in but a few words are in order . The first photo are those that made the first cut, then those that I’m keeping, and then those that I’m adding. A nice old Imperial fixed blade with I believe an original sheath. An excellent condition Buck 110 (after all, who wouldn’t consider a classic. A beautiful Camillus electrician’s knife. A joker, a Pallares Solsano, which I wanted to keep, but in the end it just wasn’t to be. a SAK, but I have what I need there. An EZE Lap Diamond stone looks useful. A screaming sharp forged fixie. An Old timer stockman and an unknown but sweet looking equal end cigar pattern. Missing from this photo is the Imperial glass reinforced zytel (thanks Gary 5K Qs 5K Qs ) stockman.
The second photo is what I’m keeping. The Imperial fixed blade, the EZE Lap diamond sharpener, the forged fixed blade, and the small Imperial stockman.
I’m adding a used Higonikami friction folder ( which has a rich patina on its covers, a small crock stick sharpener, something I call a “thing a ma jig” and a (faux?) MOP Coca-Cola coin knife.
I’ll pick the winner tomorrow Sunday evening around 8 PM so there’s still plenty of time to get in. There’s a wealth of excellent pocket knives and assorted stuff to make it worthwhile. A shout out goes to all the previous winners, in my case to Jud Henry Beige Henry Beige but especially to Jack mrknife mrknife who started all this craziness.

I think people are supporting the box getting smaller... taking more than you put in. Just sayin'

Really? I was trying to be fair and leave as much as possible. There are several others I might keep under your theory. I'll think about it.

I decided to take your advice and keep the 2012 Buck 110 and the electricians’s knife both of which are in the second photo in my first three pics. Hope this is ok with everyone.
Yes! And feel free to take gifts knives for others. Spread the love and thin the herd. The original box was a small flat rate if I recall correctly.

I decided to keep the Buck 110 also and I’ll use its photo to bump this thread one last time for anyone else who would like to join the fun before I pick a winner this evening.View attachment 1556589

By all means, keep everything that appeals to you. I know it goes against the instinctual wish to leave the box richer than when you found it. I had a hard time bringing myself to take more than I left, and in the end just barely succeeded. You have made some fine picks there, ones that tempted me except they duplicated stuff I already had.

It's a very admirable idea and I find it interesting to read others' reactions to different knives.

I'd take part, but for the insane digital but dysfunctional Post 'Service' we have here who would 1. Hold it up for weeks or months 2. Then send it to Customs....who'd want receipts and invoices then 25% import tax:poop: 3. Then back to Posti for delivery, several more weeks...4. It would cost a year's salary to return it🙀 and take another 3 months to get back to America...or returned back here and start all over again like an Ancient Greek torture from the gods!

Been thinking of sending a knife as a contribution though to keep interest going, might take some time mind....

Ok here it is. Ten names in a hat ( I went old school). My good wife picking a winner. And the winner is...... ZACHARY. Message me your address and I'll ship it to you. Congrats.

Lots of fine Choices, and the decision to take multiple was a good one.
Thinning the heard is good for business.

I messaged with Zac but I’m a little delayed shipping out the box. The after effects of COVID 19 are slowing me down.
