Thought I'd share a few pictures of my Damascus MS test knives before I destroy the last one this coming weekend at the BAM meeting in Warrenton, MO. where I'm going to take my MS cutting test. I forged these two blades out of the same damascus billet one day a few weeks ago and have already tested one of them to destruction as you can see by the picture. Hopefully the other one will preform the same way. I hope!!!!! :) Ron

Wow Ron, I like that damascus. What's it made of? I really like the shape of these knives, too.

Looks like it worked well.

Good luck on your MS.

Beautiful damascus....great work!!! Good Luck with the test. doesn't look like you'll have a problem.

Oh those picture hurt so bad!

Anyway to reforge and restraighten them back into their current shape? I'd be interested in buying a blade that was resurrected from an MS test.

You know there is a law against destroying a knife that looks that good don't you.

Always breaks my heart to see this done... I know the importance of it, but it's just plain criminal!

Good luck on your MS test, although it certainly appears that you have everything well in hand!

Good looking knives Ron. It's a shame to bend em up like that. I'm sure you'll pass will flying colors. Good luck!!

Wow, nothing wrong with that. Fantastic Ron best of luck to you though I doubt very much you'll need any luck.

Hey thanks everyone for the nice comments and well wishes on me taking the MS cutting test. Sorry I didn't post a reply sooner but I left right after posting the pictures for the gathering and just got back home. The good news is I passed my MS cutting test without any problems:D The not so good news is the knife doesn't look very pretty anymore. :grumpy: The MO Black Smith association asked me to leave the knife on display at the gathering so everyone could see what a bent piece of 10" Damascus with a nice 5" handle looks like. :foot: I'll post a picture of it when it finally makes it back home.

MS Hank Knickmeyer over saw the test while John Fitch & Victor McCrackin looked on and narrated to the crowd of on lookers. I'm one happy camper:) Ron

That's great news Ron, congratulations.

Your one brave fella. I was nervous enough doing the JS test at Joe's Szilaski's shop. I couldn't imagine doing it in front of a whole crowd. I'd probably miss the damn rope. See you in Atlanta.
:D

Congrats, cool knives. Don't see to many test knives with a finished handle like that. Beutiful pattern too!
